So, my parents came to visit this past weekend and guess what they brought me
?! Some of my old toys! Apparently they have decided to sell their house in Oklahoma. They had to do some serious cleaning--er--throwing away, I guess. But, they found a few of my treasures. I was so
EXCITED! These precious keepsakes are like keys to my childhood. I'm just glad they didn't get hauled off in a dumpster or taken to Goodwill...right Mom and Dad?

This is
Stephen and
Stephanie, my twin dolls. I got these dolls for my 8th birthday. I
LOVED these babies like they were real. They did seem like a true part of our family. Even my brothers felt that way. They were terribly upset the time Stephen's head fell off after they forcefully threw him off the top bunk. He was doing a body slam on Stephanie, they had told me. I cried for minutes while Stephen was in
*surgery,* and they stifled hysterical laughs. Well, the years have been good to you Stephen and Stephanie--welcome home.
YES! This is the
Barbie McDonald's! Are you jealous? That would be Skipper over there ordering a Big Mac. Love your jacket Skipper, because I had one just like it. I was so happy to see my barbies again. And I have to mention--they were in
GREAT condition. They were clean and had no tangles in their hair. I took good care of my barbies.

That's right--I'm about to confirm what your eyes behold and can not believe. It's
Jem and the Holograms!! Jem is
TRULY OUTRAGEOUS--truly truly truly
OUTRAGEOUS. And her earrings still blink.

Well, it's been fun reminiscing. Isn't it funny how toys magically link us to our youth--infusing child to adult? It's pretty special. Oh and for your challenge for the day...who can name the
gang in this last picture
??

I can't believe your toys are in such good shape! My barbie's hair didn't even look that nice 20 years ago!! I liked Barbie and the rockers! Do you remember those?! I want to say that is the Pound puppy gang, but I don't think that's right. I recognize them though!
Take care
Tina
Gem! Gem is excitement ooooh Gem, Gem is adventure! Glamour and glitter, fashion and fame!
I loved Gem! I had the dolls too and the big Gem car with a real radio in the trunk. Those flashing earrings were soo rad! Unfortunately, my mom passed mine to a friend who did not appreciate it nearly as much as I did and it disappeared. :(
I still have my cabbage patch dolls and my Lemon Meringue doll. though.

Here is the ad for the Jem Rockin Roadster. :)
My sister had that Barbir with the red hearts on her dress!!! You've gotta love "Ken's" pink vest...oh those were the days:)
The Get Along Gang, Get Along Gang. Each one so special in his own way. Montgomery's the leader and he's such a good sport. The Get Along Gang, Get Along Gang!
Stephen and Stephanie were never part of the family.
Did anyone ever have a monchichi? They looked like little monkeys. I had one briefly. Not sure what happened to him. You want to see a monchichi commercial? Here it is:

Monchichi, monchi-chi, oh so soft and cuddle-y. With the thumb in the mouth he's really sweet. Etc. (did that from memory because youtube is blocked at work!).
One point of clarification. Stephen's decapitation occurred when Cameron and I secured him to the ceiling fan, turned it on high speed, and hid behind pillows to avoid getting hit by the projectile doll. Good times.
I detect no remorse in your statement, Brother. Yeeessh!
I regret that Stephen did not fly faster and further.
I love seeing the old toys. I still have my cabbage patch dolls and barbies too. I figure in a couple years I'll pull them out for Cheyenne. Oh the memories of dolls and barbies, so much fun. I love your dolls' names by the way. Funny, I was named after a Stephen too. Miss you guys!
Steph
I'm 36 and I'm still strongly annoyed by stephen and stephanie. And still annoyed about how Kasia defends them. :)
I had that Barbie McDonald's set too! Cool!
Ohmygoodness, I had that exact same Ken with the sparkle star vest. I would put him and barbie next to my lamp at night, and let them soak up the light, and then watch them glow for 15 minutes after I would turn it off for bed. Sadly, my cat got a hold of them and chewed their arms all up.
Wasn't there something magical about Jem's earring? Like when she touched it, she suddenly had copious amounts of makeup on her face or something?
How sad is it that I still remember the Jem theme songs...yes, BOTH of them!
I just got rid of my Barbie McDonald's. I am downsizing and I let it go. I also gave away recently the same Barbie and Ken in the photo. :)
So cute. I should have taken pictures before I gave them away...
After review of everyone's comments, it seems to me that there are 2 groups... those who cherish the days of red heart Barbie dresses and Ken's pink vest... and then there's Channa & Jaron who don't seem to feel the same way. Gonna have to side with the siblings on this one. Oh, and Jaron-- don't sing those songs at home.

Amber! I am shocked because if you remember correctly--YOU gave me that Barbie McDonald's for my birthday one year. Ya, that's right ;D
How fun to get your toys back! My sister also had the barbie with the heart dress. I didn't remember the name of the get along gang but I knew the leader was Montgomery moose!
