Painting Project

I am very sorry for the hiatus! The reason(s) is as follows: We just got a new camera for Christmas and we've been trying to figure out the best way to transfer pictures to the computer--that combined with very little free time to do anything other than feed, bathe, referee, and ultimately further the existence of our children.

Another reason we have been busy is because WE HAVE BEEN PAINTING!

It's been a looonnnggg process for us. But we hope to finish it all today (how many times I have I thought that to myself.) I am also making curtains for the windows. I want to finish them today too.
We let the kids help us a little. Maisy was a little frustrated that painting wasn't as easy as it looked.
If you are thinking to yourself, "Why did they decide on that color?" then stayed tuned.

If you are thinking to yourself, "I LOVE that color! I want to bathe in that color and paint myself that color!" then I hope you won't be disappointed.

We painted the whole room (except the detail work) in *Light Copper* hoping it would resonate a soft gold hue. After staring at mustard yellow for couple of days, we decided it was all wrong for the room. So we sulkily shambled back to the drawing board. The final color we decided on is called *Italian Olive.*

When the room is all done--I promise to promptly post a finished product picture. Wish us luck!

Good Luck with your painting! I would love too, but am not ready for the time commitment :)

Wow I'm impressed! I don't have the patience to change the paint color once it's on the walls. I'm sure it looks gorgeous though!

Well that is very exciting! I can't wait to see the finished product now that you've shown pictures of what it's NOT going to be :) Good luck and work hard kids!!

While I like the color, I can see how an entire room of it could be overwhelming. Can't wait to see the new pictures!!!

PS Awesome job on the painting. Dustin's been promising to paint our bathroom for 2 years.

Fun to see your new post! I've been thinking about you and wondering what's been going on in Texas.

Funny you're painting because we're working on a little of that here in Vegas too.

We miss you!

I was just cleaning up our playroom where my kids had pulled down heaps and piled them on the floor. Guess what I found peaking out of one of the Harry Potters??

A spotlight on Kasia! Do you still own 100 lip smackers?? There is also a nice little story about you throwing up all the time as a child ;D

I just love you guys. I can't wait for the finished picture! Your home is so beautiful, especially with those kids painting the walls! Did Alton get a turn?

Maisy looks truly tortured. I think that must mean she is being raised by TERRIFIC parents who will teach her the value of hard work.

That color really makes me want a mustard hotdog! WOWSERS! I am so excited to see the end product and so proud of you for making a statement!

Ouch...I really don't like painting ... No, I really don't like picking paint colors from those little tiny cleverly named paint squares.

I am taking up a collection of all the paint that I bought -- and others bought -- and then did not like. I am going to paint the inside of the garage with them. Each section can be a different, discarded color.

Love,

Mama Gus

Hey Maddy! Yes, I still have 100 lip smackers. I'm guessing Brett was the provider of the spotlight information. I'm sure it was a hoot!

That's so funny that you found that after all these years! Good times ;D

Our last in person with you guys I believe was when you guys painted your kitchen purple. That stands out in my mind for some reason. I am excited to see how the paint color turns out. I am trying to figure out what color to paint our living room and am open to suggestions!
