He sees his stout, rugged son dressed up in a SISSY SAILOR SUIT! Oh, the shame!
Ace, however, seemed perfectly happy to be dressed like he's about to set sail on the good ship lollipop.
We have had an ongoing argument since the navigating days of Wilson (he, also being privileged to wear the outfit.) Kasia thinks the outfit is adorable and baby-sophisticated; however, Brett would like to use it to scrub the kitchen floor. We did finally compromise--Kasia removed the hat.
So, there's only one solution: we must put it to a vote. Who thinks this getup is deliciously darling? Who thinks Alton will be scarred for life after donning the baby blue bonnet?
If the YES voters win--Alton will be wearing this to church next Sunday. If more people vote NO--he nor any future posterity will be forced to wear the sissy sailor suit.

Yes! Totally darling. Every little boy should wear a sailor suit every now and again.
I vote no, unless you put a temporary anchor tattoo on his arm in addition to the outfit. That may level off the girly look of the outfit.

I have to say, yes, it's cute--but only for a baby. If Kasia tries to dress Wilson up in an outfit like that next Sunday, you've got a big problem.
My vote is DEFINATELY NO; unless you change his name to Sally. Didn't they wear those bonnets on Little House on the Prairie?
Kaid
Well...I think that your compromise was brilliant! It is a very cute outfit BUT I can see how the bonnet could be a little controversial. So I say keep on wearing the jumper to church and maybe save the whole ensemble for when you take him to get his professional pictures taken. That would be great!
By the way, I LOVE the picture of Alton and Wilson! It's like a reflection in the mirror! What cuties!!
I'm going to vote for Dave here and say NO. He would NEVER let andrew wear that either.
How about taking the outfit off and leaving the hat??
I'm going with YES as long as he also wears that worried look on his face. If he smiles while wearing the bonnet, then I'm going with NO. How's that for decisive??

By an 8-7 vote, my sixth period class votes NO.
Brett
I vote yes, without the bonnet. What a cutie.
Oh the shame! How many times can I vote no to ensure Alton doesn't have to suffer next week? Brett, if the outfit isn't in shreds after washing your kitchen floor, I could put it to good use at our house. Kasia, Pam wants to make sure you know she had nothing to do with this comment.

Oh, hard decision. Don't have boys so not sure what to say, but I'm all about a vote for adding the temporary anchor tatoo! I really like that idea!! That's super manly. Then Alton could wear any sailor suit out there! So whatever we see next Sunday, I'm really rooting for the tatoo to be there... :)
I love it, and I love the hat. But, we have only girls around here, that may sway my point of view. Sean probably disagrees with me but who is he to talk? If we by slim chance every have a boy, he'll be destined to wear a box full of big sister hand me downs and princess dress-ups. Sean may be begging to borrow the sailor suite...
So I have a mom who tries to put sissy outfits on my baby boy so.... I am going to say that for a baby who is a couple of months old I think it is ok WITHOUT the hat. Dave says the hat is sissy. I agree. HOWEVER if you don't have pictures of your kids in goofy outfits then what can you use to embarass them with when they are older.
I would also like to add that Kasia went through all the pain for this child, so I think she should get at least 1 Sunday.
So normally I would say no, but the more I look at it, it is pretty cute, definitely without the hat though. Just make sure he doesn't wear it past being a few months old, because then it does get a little sissy. As a little baby, it is adorable.

"Popeye Gustaveson, he's bread second son, he's dressed like a girl, let all call him Shirl, Popeye Gustaveson, toot, toot"
Courtesy of Ethan (sung to the tune of Popeye the sailorman)
He also says to take some spinach to church in case of other children teasing him.
So I guess that is one Yes and one No.
I'd have to go with a no....sorry Kasia. Wes also voted no and said, "Nobody should be stuck wearing that".
He looks adorable! Didn't little boys used to wear dresses and look kind of like little girls? This is a very masculine outfit compared to that...hehe. Kasia has my support:-) Though I would guess Tyler would be supporting Brett, but you can't count Tyler's vote because I haven't even mentioned it to him yet.
I know that Christine already voted for me...but I have to vote for myself and make sure that there are more 'No' votes. Pobrecito NO.
You may notice a pattern, females tend to vote yes while males vote no. That skews the results because men have to work during the day and don't have time to sit around and blog (except me). Also, I vote NO 987,456,137,489 times. Plus, I vote YES 987,456,137,536 times. It shouldn't matter becaues you never mentioned a limit on the number of times one could vote and the process is forever tainted anyway.
Jaron
NO! Brett I agree with you, this outfit is going to get him beat up by other newborn boys and girls!
I have to stand up for the future man and say NO. I'm not a fan of sissy clothes on boys... sorry Kasia!
This is Sean now. Brett I am in your camp man! Being an expert in sissy clothes, my advice is to continue holding your ground on saying no to the sailor outfit!
You know if some of Alton's future preschool homies get a hold of those pictures, Alton will never hear the end of it at least up until kindergarden.
OH My gosh, he looks JUST like Wilson!! SO CUTE!!! I'm gonna vote no though. It's cute and all, but my final vote is no :) (or yes with no hat...if you need a tie breaker haha)
I vote YES!
Just to be contrary to Dustin and Brett, and apparently every other man.
WITH the hat even! I think it's got Southern charm!
I vote DEFINITELY NO. Geez. Kids got enough to deal with these days, let alone their moms dressing them up like that. Outfits like that put kids in therapy later on in life. Definitely no. Not even without the hat. With love, aunt channa :)
Okay so he looks really cute! I suppose the compromise was a good fit. haha
I have to follow the party line and vote with the men of the group here in favor of saving the sailor suit for just the right moment - I'm not sure that Alton is feeling that this is the big moment for the sailor suit.
TO protect him from a future black mailing I say NO to sailor suits at Church next Sunday.
I'm got to go with no.
This is hilarious. He looks dang cute. I have to agree with the person that said that since Kasia went through the pain of childbirth she gets to pick his clothes. I would leave off the hat though.
I vote yes. Tres european. You can only get away with it for a short time so, why not indulge.
Oh MY HECK!!! What happens when I don't look at the blog all week! Kasia, I love you.
That being said, Alton is not a child of the 1890's and forced to wear a dress because there are no pants that small...He is definitely a BOY, deserving of BYU colors and able to wear jeans just as soon as you can get them on him. J.K. (just kiddin')
But my vote is no to the froo-froo, even for church.
P.S. If you have to have something on him later, how about a naked picture, maybe one on a bearskin rug in front of the fireplace...?
Love, Aunt Di
Waiting with tense anticipation to see if Alton wears the sailor suit - hat - or something completely different to church today.
Inquiring computers want to know???
I think it's darling.
I vote that its cute....and also I just wanted to say I am on Sister Gooses' side with in everything. =P
