Max's Donuts

Hello!  This is Kasia writing!  So something interesting that happened this week is Brett was called to be Bishop of our ward.  Things have been pretty crazy since the call.  But to be honest, I think we are going to be okay.  I did not expect so many expressions of love and support from the ward members and it really touched me.  I felt uplifted and I felt strength.  I think we are going to survive this.  People kept saying that I will be a great "Bishop's wife."  What does that even mean??  I have no idea.

You know what makes you feel peaceful after receiving an overwhelming calling?  A cinnamon roll the size of your head.  This is from our favorite donut shop called Max's Donuts.  It's in a town near us called Allen.  The donuts are so far superior than any other donut in the area that we are willing to travel the distance to eat these melt-in-your-mouth pastries.

Also, this week--Wilson had his first basketball game.  Now that he is in Middle School, sports are school sponsored.  He's never really played basketball before, but he has taken basketball by the horns and is bringing it home!  I am so proud of him because he hasn't been intimidated or let insecurities hold him back.  He did a great job.  I will let him tell you the details next week, but from my seat he was all over the court. He made a basket!  Also, he was very sweaty by the end.  That must mean it was a good game.   Way to Go Wilson!!  Love you man

Oh hey!  It was also our anniversary this past Wednesday.  Funny story: Brett and I try not to put pressure on ourselves to make our anniversary spectacular every year.  We have a special tradition: We give each other a high five (a very romantic one) and say "Happy Anniversary!" very loudly. Then we call it good. Wilson was telling me that he liked the way we celebrated and he hoped his future wife would want to be like that too.  Then I was curious, so I asked him what qualities he would like in his future wife.  I LOVED his answer:

1. Understanding
2. Wants to raise children
3. Has high moral values
4. Wants eternal life and to live with Heavenly Father again
5. Will support him in his calling/job
6. Is fun
7. Likes bacon

Wilson, I think this is very attainable!  I am so proud of the young man you are becoming.

Congratulations to your family! :) I think what it means is that you're a compassionate person and will not only support your husband in his calling but will also support your ward family. I so want a donut right now. And also, I think Wilson described me with #7. lol

Miss your sweet family and will enjoy hearing about your adventures in this chapter of your lives.
